Today’s writing prompt for Five Minute Friday is she.

As I thought about what I would write, I immediately wanted to join the word she with a verb.

She went.
She was.
She spoke.
She danced.

Any number of verbs would work for the situation. But then I thought about all the times in my life where I felt I didn’t measure up to those verbs or the adjectives that would make a complete sentence.

She went with courage.
She was beautiful.
She spoke truth.
She danced gracefully.

These are all things that we can do with our God given mind, body, and talents. Maybe for me dancing is not graceful and just fun, but I can dance better than Elaine from Seinfeld.

See there it is, the comparison. The trap that we’re quickly lured into and begin to believe ourselves to be less than. For today the word She will stand alone. Because being she is enough.
